Norma Instruments Zrt. is a Hungarian company specializing in the designing and manufacturing of high-quality and innovative blood analysis systems serving the in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) market. Since our company s launch in 2012, Norma has grown into an international company that operates in nearly 80 countries today through a well-established and well-trained distribution network. Our product range consists of hematology analyzers and reagents for human medical and veterinary use. Norma Icon hematology analyzers can perform one of the most common hematology tests, the complete blood count (CBC), a quantitative test that counts the number of various white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets in human and animal blood. Norma was among the first companies to utilize microfluidic technologies (the blood samples used for the measurement pass through hairline tubes inside the device) in the development of hematology analyzers, which allowed us to develop the smallest hematology analyzers with the smallest sample volume processing and smallest reagent consumption in the world. Our innovations enable the analyzer to be used in point-of-care or near-patient testing environments, such as in Intensive Care Units, Emergency Departments, General Practitioner Offices, Blood Banks, Mobile Care Units. Since the launch of our company, Norma has acquired several patents and awards, from which the most outstanding were the International Red Dot Design Award in 2014, the Hungarian Millennium Innovation Award in 2016 and the Environmental Innovation Prize in 2018.
The i3LAB is a smart, 3-part differential hematology analyzer with closed vial sampling with an innovative and handy design. The i3LAB provides a 22-parameter complete blood cell count report that includes WBC, RBC, and PLT histograms, using the volumetric impedance method for the detection of red blood cells (RBC) and white blood cells (WBC) and photometric method for the measurement of hemoglobin (HGB) levels. The i3LAB was primarily developed to be used in laboratory environments as it provides an 80 tests/hour throughput and is compatible with the Norma Autoloader to offer effective support in the everyday work of the laboratory personnel. It does not only have a compact size, low reagent consumption using only two reagents and small sampling volume processing, but it also doesn t require any weekly maintenance action from the user.
The Icon-5 is a smart, 5-part differential hematology analyzer that sets new standards in terms of features, functions, and style. This iconic laboratory device combines cutting-edge technology with a fresh and elegant design. The Icon-5 uses laser-based flow cytometry with forward-scattered light detection and volumetric impedance measuring method. It provides a 27-parameter complete blood cell count report that includes RBC and PLT histograms, as wells as a 5-part WBC scattergram. What makes this device special and innovative is its microfluidics technology that enables reagent consumption to be reduced by approximately 75% compared to other analyzers on the market. Furthermore, Icon-5 has one of the smallest dimensions (280 x 216 x 336 mm) within its class, which allows it to be used in Emergency Departments, ICUs, private clinics, blood banks, or perhaps even in mobile care units. Norma Icon-5 is changing the hematology landscape: there is no other analyzer like the Icon.
The Icon-5 OP is a smart, laser-based 5-part differential hematology analyzer with an open vial sampling option that inherited its predecessors elegant and award-winning design. The Icon-5 OP provides a 27-parameter complete blood cell count report that includes a 5-part diff WBC scattergram, as well as RBC and PLT histograms, using the following measurement technologies: laser-based forward-scattered light method for the differentiation of white blood cells (WBC), volumetric impedance method for detection of red blood cells (RBC) and photometric method for the measurement of hemoglobin (HGB) levels. The Icon-5 OP was primarily developed to be used in Point-of-Care (PoC) environments, such as in Intensive Care Units, Emergency Departments, GP Offices, Blood Banks, or even Mobile Care Units, because it has not only a compact size, low reagent consumption, and small sampling volume processing, but it also doesn t require any weekly maintenance action from the user.
The Icon-3 is a smart, 3-part differential hematology analyzer that sets new standards in terms of features, functions, and style. This iconic laboratory device combines cutting-edge technology with a fresh and elegant design. The Icon-3 provides a 22-parameter complete cell blood count report that includes histograms for WBC, RBC, and PLT. What makes this device special and innovative is its microfluidics technology which enables it to reduce reagent consumption by approximately 75% compared to other analyzers on the market. Furthermore, the Icon-3 has not only one of the smallest dimensions (280 x 216 x 320 mm) within its class, but it measures capillary blood samples as well, which allows it to be used in Emergency Departments, Pediatrics Departments, ICUs, or in private clinics. The Norma Icon-3 has definitely changed the hematology landscape: there is no other analyzer like the Icon.
The iVet-5 is Norma s hematology analyzer for veterinary use. This smart, laser-based 5-part differential hematology analyzer with open vial sampling mode provides precise complete blood count results for six animal species: dog, cat, horse, foal, camel, and guinea pig. These animal profiles are continuously expanding, and Norma will provide more measurement options in the future. The iVet-5 inherited the Icon hematology family s all excellent features such as, - compact size A4 sheet paper footprint - easy-to-use touch screen with simple navigation - extremely low sample volume processing 2 1.4μL processed whole blood -small reagent consumption 75% less than any other analyzer s consumption on the market - low user maintenance requirements no weekly maintenance actions These features allow this unique veterinary analyzer to be used at the measurement site and open new diagnostic options for veterinary clinics.
