Expomed Eurasia Fair, one of the most significant gatherings of the
healthcare technologies and medical industry, has opened its doors
for the 33rd time. Held on April 16–18, 2026, at the Tüyap Fair and
Congress Center in Istanbul, the exhibition brings together more
than 500 companies and company representatives from 16 countries,
uniting all stakeholders of the sector on a single platform.
Organized with the support of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of
Trade and held under the status of a prestigious fair, Expomed
Eurasia stands out as Türkiye’s only trade faire in the medical
field and the largest in the region, with over 30 years of history.
The event, organized by Reed Tüyap Fairs Inc., is held with the
contributions of leading industry umbrella organizations such as the
Federation of All Medical Device Manufacturers and Suppliers
Associations (TÜMDEF), the Association of Health Industry Employers
of Türkiye (SEİS), and the Association of Medical Device
Manufacturers and Representatives (SADER). Supported by
comprehensive online and face-to-face promotional activities carried
out throughout the year in both domestic and international markets,
the exhibition aims to welcome visitors from 130 countries.
Key Themes of Healthcare Transformation at the Fair
This year, the exhibition is held under the themes of “Productive
Healthcare,” “Digitalization in Healthcare,” and “Domestic and
National Production,” bringing transformation in healthcare
technologies and innovative solutions into focus. At a time when
digital transformation in healthcare is accelerating, Expomed
Eurasia stands out as a strong platform that not only creates new
business opportunities but also highlights innovative technologies
and the strength of domestic production. Showcasing a wide range of
products—from digital health applications and advanced medical
devices to consumables and orthopedic products—the event provides an
important trade and collaboration platform contributing to the
strengthening of the local production ecosystem.
With its broad scope ranging from medical technologies to dietary
supplements, the trade show offers a multidimensional interaction
space for healthcare professionals, manufacturers, investors, and
public representatives. As the impact of artificial intelligence in
the healthcare sector continues to grow, next-generation
solutions—from imaging and diagnostic systems to life technologies
and preventive healthcare applications—are presented to
visitors.
Türkiye Maintains Its Growth Momentum in the Healthcare
Industry
Türkiye’s healthcare sector draws attention with an approximate
foreign trade volume of USD 3.9 billion. Of this volume, around USD
1.25 billion comes from exports, while USD 2.6 billion consists of
imports. While the share of domestic production in the medical
device sector continues to increase, imported products still account
for 69.5% of public procurement.
In Türkiye, where approximately 77.5% of healthcare expenditures
are carried out by the public sector, the strong public structure
continues to be one of the key stakeholders of the industry. The
increasing number of healthcare service providers, rising demand for
qualified services, and the development of medical tourism are among
the main factors supporting the sector’s growth.
Public Sector, Manufacturers, and Service Providers on the Same
Platform
Expomed Eurasia brings together the four main stakeholders of the
healthcare ecosystem under one roof: the Public Sector, Healthcare
Service Providers, the Medical Technologies Industry, and the
Pharmaceutical Industry.
In Türkiye, where a large portion of the population is covered by
social health insurance and the public sector holds a significant
share in healthcare expenditures, the role of regulatory
institutions becomes even more critical. In this context, the
exhibition creates a strong platform for dialogue and collaboration
between public institutions, private sector representatives, and
manufacturers.
Future Healthcare Solutions Showcased at the Innovation
Area
Within the scope of the exhibition, the Innovation Area—established
with the contributions of the Health Institutes of Türkiye (TÜSEB)
and in cooperation with the Istanbul Health Industry Cluster
Association (İSEK)—brings together entrepreneurs developing
innovative projects in healthcare technologies with the
industry.
This special area hosts universities, technoparks, technology
centers, and start-ups. Alongside prominent institutions such as
Boğaziçi University, Istanbul Technical University ARI Teknokent,
Teknopark Istanbul, Yeditepe University, and Dokuz Eylül University,
numerous entrepreneurial companies present their projects in medical
product design, diagnostic tests, and healthcare technologies to
international visitors.
The Innovation Area contributes to the commercialization of ideas
by bringing entrepreneurs together with potential investors, while
also enabling participants to directly interact with projects. Thus,
technologies that will shape the future of the sector are showcased
under the roof of Expomed Eurasia.
A Strong Platform for Regional and Global Collaborations
With its increasing international participation and wide product
range, Expomed Eurasia goes beyond being just a trade fair and
continues to serve as a strategic platform where regional and global
collaborations are established.
Shaped around transformation in healthcare services,
digitalization, and a focus on domestic production, the exhibition
makes a significant contribution to Türkiye’s goals of increasing
its production power in healthcare technologies and achieving a
stronger position in global competition.
