Founded in 1976 for catgut manufacturing, Katsan Medical Devices is one of the leading synthetic surgical suture manufacturers in Turkey. In addition to surgical thread production, Katsan has expanded its service and product range and also produces laparoscopic surgery supplies, sports surgery, hemostats and surgical mesh.
Polypropylene ALCALENE® sutures are synthetic, non-absorbable, monofilament, sterile surgical suture composed of coPolypropylene polymer, also known as Polypropylene, and 0.5 percent FD&C Blue 2. The blue color additive FD&C Blue 2 is approved for medical use by the FDA. Color additive does not exceed 1.0% of the suture weight (§74.3102 FDA). ALCALENE® sutures meet all the requirements specified for non-absorbable surgical sutures in the European Pharmacopoeia (EP) and the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP). ALCALENE® sutures are produced as sterile, monofilament, blue colored, USP 6/0 USP 2 (metric 0.7-5), in various lengths from 10 cm to 150 cm, with or without stainless steel needles. Sutures are available in packs of one, two and three dozen.
Poly [glycolic acid (90%) co lactic acid(10%)] ALCALACTINE® Sutures are synthetic, absorbable, sterile, multifilament surgical sutures consisting of a copolymer synthesized from 90% Polyglycolic Acid and 10% L-Lactic Acid. Braided sutures are coated with coating material. The coating material of coated sutures consists of a mixture of Calcium Stearate, Polyglycolic Acid (30%) L-Lactic Acid (70%). When ALCALACTINE® sutures are implanted into a living organism, they are absorbed by the organism and do not cause excessive tissue irritation. ALCALACTINE® sutures are non-antigenic and pyrogenic, only a slight tissue reaction occurs during absorption. ALCALACTINE® sutures meet all the requirements defined in the European Pharmacopoeia (EP) and the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP) for absorbable synthetic productions, except that the diameter limits are slightly exceeded in some sizes. To facilitate the operation, ALCALACTINE® sutures are colored purple, dyed with FDA-approved D&C purple No:2. ALCALACTINE® sutures are produced in sterile, braided purple and beige color, USP 6/0 USP 2 (metric 0.7-5), in various lengths from 10 cm to 150 cm, with or without a stainless steel needle. Sutures are available in packs of one, two and three dozen.
LAPAFIX® trocars are a medical device which is placed in the body from a few different points without making wide incisions in the abdomen and chest region, one end is inside the abdomen, and the other end is located outside the abdomen, and can reach the patient s body without incision. The camera and the light source can be sent to the abdominal cavity through these trocars placed at several points, and the surgeon can follow the abdomen from the screen. Other hand tools and other necessary tools are transmitted and the operations are performed. LAPAFIX® bladed trocar is available in ribbed fixation cannula configuration and standard trocar length (100mm) with 5 mm, 10 mm, 11 mm, 12 mm diameters. LAPAFIX® bladed trocar has a sharp linear blade and blade shield with a spring-loaded locking mechanism. After penetration into the abdominal or thoracic cavity, the shield advances to cover the linear blade and reduces the possibility of injury in intra-abdominal or intra-thoracic structures. The trocar cannula contains an internal seal to prevent gas leakage when operating instruments are inserted or removed without loss of pneumoperitoneum. There is a stopcock valve for gas insufflation and desufflation. LAPAFIX® bladed trocar is sharper than reusable trocars and generally requires less force for insertion. Excessive force may reduce the user s control of the angle and the depth of insertion, which may increase the risk of injury to internal structures. LAPAFIX® bladeless trocar is available in ribbed fixation cannula configuration and standard trocar length (100mm) with 5 mm, 10 mm, 11 mm, 12 mm diameters. The trocar cannula contains an internal seal to prevent gas leakage when operating instruments are inserted or removed without loss of pneumoperitoneum. There is a stopcock valve for gas insufflation and desufflation.
Polydioxanone ALCADINONE® sutures are synthetic, absorbable, sterile surgical sutures made of Polydioxanone. When ALCADINONE® sutures are implanted into a living organism, they are absorbed by the organism and do not cause excessive tissue irritation. ALCADINONE® sutures are non-antigen and pyrogenic, only mild tissue reaction occurs during absorption. To facilitate the operation, ALCADINONE® sutures are painted with FDA-approved D&C purple No:2. ALCADINONE® sutures are produced in sterile, purple color, USP 6/0 USP 2 (metric 0.7-5), in various lengths from 10 cm to 150 cm, with or without stainless steel needles. Sutures are available in packs of one, two and three dozen.
TERAMESH® Non-Absorbable is made of polypropelene non-absorbable monofilament fibers. This mesh implant is used for abdominal wall stabilization in cases such as hernia. After implantation the PP mesh remains stabilized and provides ease of usage as far as is not degraded in the body. TERAMESH® Non-Absorbable is sterilised by ethylene oxide. TERAMESH® Non-Absorbable is biocompetible and has ISO 10933 biocompatibility test reports.
